CFS07C Installation Instructions Chevrolet Sierra/Silverado 2007and Up

Read all instructions carefully before starting install

1. Remove the plastic bezel that surrounds your tailgate handle. Use the tips of your fingers at the top of the bezel and then the bottom to pull it off.
2. Release lock rods at handle assembly by unlatching plastic retainers.
3. Remove the 3 screws on the back side of the tailgate with a Torx 40 socket.
4. Extract the handle from the tailgate.
5. Insert the short harness into the drain hole at the bottom of the tailgate. The end with the male bullet plugs should run behind the bumper and under the truck. Push the harness end with the 2 female bullet plugs into the tailgate until it can be pulled through to the handle opening.

NOTE: Due to the reduced size of the tailgate drain holes we no longer pre-attach the male bullet plugs. The cable is pre-skinned so they can be crimped on after the harness has been routed through the tailgate drain holes.

6. Using an appropriate work surface, set the factory handle on top of the DynoLock bracket, align the 3 holes and insert at least 2 of the bolts. Now move the actuator piston to see if the Dynolock pin moves freely under the lip of the handle. You will have to hold the lip up. The lock rods will hold it up when installed. If everything lines up OK, remove the bolts and prepare to insert the lock and handle back into the tailgate.
7. The DynoLock and handle will have to be inserted back into the tailgate at the same time. Ultimately, the DynoLock bracket will be sandwiched between the factory handle and the back skin of the tailgate. Our suggestion is to slide both pieces in together and the get on bolt threaded through the hole into the factory bracket. Then line up the rest of the
8. Make sure the DynoLock locking pin moves back and forth freely. Connect wires from harness to DynoLock
9. Reconnect the threaded lock rods by snapping retainer into place.
10. Connect the long harness to the short harness installed in the tailgate by pressing the 2 male & female connectors together.
11. Run the harness under the vehicle as close to the driver's side kick panel as possible. Use the tie wrap to secure the harness to the frame. Be sure to avoid moving or hot parts under the vehicle, i.e. shocks, springs or muffler pipes.

OPTION Two Door odels can run the cable down the passenger side to the passenger kick panel to connect the wires. This action allows the lock to operate with the passenger door locks.

12. Drill a 7/16” hole in the floor under the driver door trim plate and insert the enclosed grommet. Run the wire through grommet.
13. It is necessary to remove the driver door panel and attach the two wires from the DynoLock Electric Lock directly to the wires at the door lock solenoid.

NOTE: On 4 door crew cab models the wires can be found in the drivers door sill. You will not need to go into the door.

14. First remove the drivers side kick panel and fish the two wires thru the boot between the door jam and the door. See page marked 2007 Silverado & up driver door panel removal for more information on how to do it.
15. The GM locking mechanism is totally new. After you remove the door panel, pull the clear plastic back at the bottom of the door and you will find the bracket.
