- Open tailgate and remove access cover with a Torx 45
socket.
2 Release left side locking rod by
unlatching retainer.
3 Remove both screws that
holds handle assembly to tailgate.
4 Insert Dynolock
bracket on the left side of the tailgate (Drivers Side) . Then
place 2 predrilled holes over the threaded studs and
replace screws.
5 Insert the short wire harness with
the 2 bullet plugs into the drain at the bottom of the
tailgate. The end with waterproof connector should run
behind the bumper and under the truck. Push the two bullet
connector into the handle area..
6 Connect wires
from harness to solenoid wires. Reconnect threaded lock rod by
snapping retainer into place.
7 Connect the long
harness to the short harness installed in the tailgate by
pressing the 2 pin waterproof connectors
together.
8 Run the harness under the vehicle as close
to the drivers side trim plate as possible Use the tie wraps
to secure the harness to the frame. Be sure to avoid
moving or hot parts under the vehicle, ie. shocks, springs
or muffler parts.
9 Remove the driver's side trim
plate
10 Drill a 1/2' hole in the floor under the
driver's side door trim plate and insert the enclosed
grommet Run the harness thru the grommet.
11 Remove
the left side kick panel and locate the Orange/Black ( lock)
and the Pink/Black (unlock) wires.
12 Attach the
2 blue wire taps to each wire. Wrap the blue wire taps around
each wire and squeeze close with pliers. Push the 2 pink
male spade connectors attached to the end of the harness into
the blue taps.
13 Lock the doors with the drivers side
lock switch. If the tailgate locks and the doors unlock, at the same time,
reverse the wires. Replace trim plate / kick panel
/ tailgate access panel and the installation is
complete
